Hilchos Lashon Hara chapter 9, section 3

A person should be careful not to praise someone in a way that brings him loss. For example, a guest who goes out to the street and tells everyone how kind his host was to him and how he hosted him. Because of this, bad people will gather around the host, take advantage of him, and use up his money. About this kind of thing it says: "If who blesses his fellow with a loud voice early in the morning - it is regarded as a curse for him" (Mishlei 27:14).

From this we learn that the same is true if someone got a loan from another person and tells everyone how kind he was. Because of this, bad people will gather around the lender, and he will not manage to get away from them.

A person must guard his mouth and his tongue, so that he is not suspected because of his words and does not look like someone speaking lashon hara. If he brought suspicion on himself, it counts as avak lashon hara ("dust" of lashon hara).
