It makes no difference whether you told on your own, or the other person already understood part of it and pushed you to tell him the rest of what was said about him.

Even if your father or your rabbi pushes you to tell, and even if it is only avak rechilus (the "dust" of rechilus, something that only hints at it), you may not listen to them.
