Hilchos Rechilus, chapter 5, section 6
There is one more part to the ban on accepting rechilus (talebearing).
Suppose it turns out that the story is true: a certain person really did this or that to him. But there is still a way to judge that person favorably — maybe he did not mean to harm him at all. If the listener chooses not to judge him favorably, and so the story ends up in a bad light, he is called someone who accepts rechilus.
