Illustrations paragraphs 1, 2

1. A person sees that Reuven wants to make a business partnership with Shimon, and Reuven does not know Shimon's nature. But he knows Shimon well, and knows that because of his bad nature Shimon does not care about other people's money. He should warn Reuven not to go into partnership with Shimon. Here too he must be careful that all the details from the laws of rechilus are met.

2. If Reuven already became Shimon's partner because he did not know him, it depends. If he knows that his words will not be fully believed, and will only make Reuven careful — so that he watches the accounts and checks every matter to avoid a loss — then he must tell him, as long as all the details are met. But if he sees that the listener will believe his words, and because of this Shimon will suffer a real loss — for example, Reuven will cancel the partnership or cause other harm — it is forbidden to tell him.
