Hilchos Lashon Hara chapter 5, section 5
It is forbidden to say that someone is not strong – for example, telling the people of the town that a person is weak. If this could harm them, for example if they are a day laborer or a teacher of young children, it is certainly lashon hara.
It is also forbidden to say that someone is not well-off, or that they are poor and what they have is owed to others. If this becomes known, people will not give them credit, and they will suffer harm and pain. This lashon hara would truly take away their living.
