Hilchos Lashon Hara chapter 5, section 8

The Torah forbids speaking lashon hara (negative talk about others) even when it is true, and even when one person says it alone. It is even worse when two people say it together. With two people the sin is bigger, because listeners believe them more, and the person they talk about is put down even more.
