The exact words of the warning do not matter. The speaker might have said "don't talk about this," or "don't let anyone find out about this from you." Either way, it is forbidden to tell the bad thing to anyone else – and certainly to the person it is about.

Also, the permission of "in front of three" only applies when there were three listeners. If two people told it to two others, it is forbidden to repeat it.
